At Oldcastle
Precast Communications and Oldcastle Precast Services, safety is
the "foundation" of our business. All Business and Construction
decisions are made with the safety of our employees,
contractors, and customers in mind. We have a professional and
comprehensive safety manual which covers all applicable OSHA
standards as well as best safety practices. We are committed to
effective safety training through our safety manual. All of our
employees receive hands on and documented training on each
section of the safety manual. We also have dedicated training
sessions throughout the year on specific areas such as Rigging
and Decision Driving. In addition to this all relevant employees
carry at minimum an OSHA 10 hour Construction Safety and Health
certification.
Our Safety culture is built upon the concept of safety oriented
behavioral change as well as procedural change from our onsite
supervisors to Sr. Management. We believe safety is not a
policy... but a lifestyle. To further enhance this culture we open
and close all meetings with a safety discussion, support regular
breaks, provide continuous training, supply weekly toolbox
talks, and encourage our supervisors to submit safety "lessons
learned" from their jobsites. This helps us identify and correct
any issues that may arise on the job and to keep safety as a
front end mindset for all of our employees.
